Take Charge of Your Financial Future
Fear and uncertainty are two of the reasons people procrastinate when dealing with their personal financial situation. If you don’t have a solution to deal with your debt you may feel overwhelmed. Where do you start? Simplify the process by following a few simple steps:
- Schedule one hour of uninterrupted time in your schedule. If you are married or common-law work together. You will be stronger as a team.
- Gather all of your creditor statements. This might involve opening the stack of unopened mail that you have been avoiding.
- Record the information. Working from your most recent creditor statement write down who you owe money to and the outstanding balance.
- Calculate the total amount of money you owe to each of your creditors for a grand total.
I suggest creating a separate list for the following:
- Unsecured Creditors: Credit cards, overdrafts, unsecured lines of credit, unsecured loans
- Secured Creditors: Vehicle loans, mortgages, secured lines of credit, secured loans
- Bills: Outstanding utility or household bills, fines, student loans, Canada Revenue Agency
You should feel a sense of accomplishment. In less than an hour you have taken the first step to deal with a situation that you have been avoiding.
Information Is Knowledge and Knowledge Is Power
With the information you have gathered you can chose to form a plan of attack on your own (easier to do with a smaller debt load), or you can call a professional company like 4 Pillars. In one hour you will receive information about all of your options. You are now able to make an informed decision on how to deal with your financial situation.
The following was written by my client Robin:
“After months of wondering which way to turn my accountant referred me to 4 Pillars. Charlie laid options out to me. That has relieved all my financial stress. I highly recommend anyone who ends up in this situation to talk to Charlie Peet. One word – Awesome! Thanks.”
Put aside your fear and uncertainty and feel your power as you regain control of your financial future.
Best Wishes,
Charlie Peet
