Are you tired of living in overdraft?

By Chris Grew

At 4 Pillars Victoria I have helped hundreds of people become debt free. In my experience if you are living in overdraft it is one of the telltale warning signs that you may have a problem with the amount of debt you are carrying and that your debt load may be becoming unmanageable. Living in overdraft may be the sign of a bigger issue.

Are you spending part of the month or the entire month in your overdraft?

If you are living in overdraft on a constant basis this may be the wakeup call you need to look at your bigger debt picture

How can you know when you are truly in need of help? There are actually some clear warning signs, answer YES or NO to each of the questions below:

Do you struggle to pay all of your bills by their due date every month?

  • Are you receiving collection calls?
  • Are you only making minimum payments on your credit cards?
  • Do you pay your credit cards off in full each month?
  • Do you have to use your credit cards to make it through the month?
  • Are you losing sleep because you are worried about debt?
  • Do you have feeling of stress and hopelessness that you’ll never get out of debt?
  • Do you hide spending from a partner or spouse?
  • Do you allow bills to stack up because you can’t pay them?

Did you answer YES to more than two of the questions? You may be experiencing some of the warning signs and may be in need of my help to get debt relief in Victoria.

Let me share a quick client story with you or someone who was experiencing the early warning signs and how I was able to help this client restructure their debt.

Maryann approached me one day because her overdraft was maxed out and she was starting to get calls from her bank. This was a rude awakening for her and she realized that she had been living in her overdraft for months. “When I first met Chris I felt like I had been in this fog and had just been ignoring my debt. I didn’t want to admit to myself that I needed help and because I had been ignoring it for so long I was shocked to see just how bad things had gotten. My overdraft wasn’t just an early warning sign, it really became the straw that broke the camel’s back! Chris was able to explain all the options and he helped through the process of filing my consumer proposal. I am happy to say my debt went from $28,000 to $9,000 and am on my way to be debt free and no longer living in overdraft!”.
