I ran into some financial difficulty in the spring of 2009. I contacted Blair from 4 Pillars and from our very first meeting Blair explained the process professionally and thoroughly. I am a pretty good read of people and I had a good feeling about Blair from the start. He tells it like it is honestly and sincerely. I spent a long time just trying to take care of my debt myself. Constantly trying to pay off the bills, and somehow manage to have a life. It wasn’t working. You miss one payment, and it takes months to correct for it. You have no money while you do it. What good is good credit and no money? 4 Pillars had advertised in the same booklet that my work had used. I had seen the ad, and thought about how nice it would be to be out of debt. When I was sitting in the chair across from Adrian for the very first time I was so nervous. The thoughts that ran through my head were numerous. I was wondering if these guys were for real, was this a legitimate company?, will these guys help us or put us further in the whole? What happens next? Well I can tell you from our experience is that they are legitimate and they do help out….a lot. Adrian told us that he was building towards us having a credit card in a year from the date we came in and I almost peed my pants. I said “are you kidding me, that’s one of the reasons we are here”. But after all the credit rebuilding and just plain conversations we get it now. We are past the year mark and he is correct, we have a credit card and are making it work…the proper way. We can’t that the Moore men enough for all they have done. So sit back, relax and know that you are in good hands. I am so thankful for 4 Pillars. If I had listened to the advice of my lawyer, I would have chosen bankruptcy and would be starting over and I am not in a position to be starting over in this stage of my life after divorce. I did my own personal research and concluded to leave the legal issues of divorce to lawyers and seek the advice on debt resolution and credit rebuilding to the experts at 4 pillars.

Best decision I ever made. I don't worry about not having enough money to pay my bills. Jennifer was very helpful and professional through the whole process I have learned alot about saving and spending.

I want to be honest, authentic and accountable. Since January we have lost over 1100$ a month in income. This makes us short 600$/mth. 1/2 was when the child I was doing Daycare for no longer required it and the other is that we are no longer having tenants in our suite. Kevin's job is also on the rocks, they have some orders for different types of tanks to weld, but they are laying off guys every week. Approximately 3 years ago my husband came home from work looking quite distressed. He told me our financial situation was deteriorating and no matter how many extra hours we added to our work week, the bottom line was, we would hardly be able to keep up with the interest payments on our debt and still keep the house running.
He had a form he had picked up explaining what a consumer proposal was and a questionnaire. He wanted us to discuss doing a consumer proposal. I remember becoming very agitated and crying, I believe I uttered the words ‘ I would rather work myself to death’. He put the form away and we didn’t speak of it again until last year. As he had predicted, all of the extra hours, and even an intervention by family didn’t solve our money issues.
A few months ago, he had intended to retire from his job and keep his second job which according to his calculations would bring us in more money then if he would not retire. Well, as fate would have it, our lives became quite disrupted when he was laid off with no light in sight.

Someone was however looking after us, maybe a divine intervention, but he found an ad for 4 Pillars in the local paper and he brought it to my attentions. This time I listened as I knew we had to work on fixing the situation. We called the number, I was distraught at the time and when Scott answered the phone, he immediately relieved my anxiety by saying, ‘don’t worry, I am certain there is something we can do to help you’. Scott setup an appointment so that he could discuss our options and go over our situation.
From the minute we entered the reception area, we were treated with kindness, respect and courtesy. Scott was absolutely everything we hoped he would be, professional, sympathetic, and most of all non-judgemental. We left his office knowing we would get the help we needed here at 4 Pillars. Scott assured my husband and I that the creditor calls would soon stop, and to just refer them to his office, and that in itself was a blessing, as the nerve wracking conversations with them over the phone were taking its toll on our mental health.We followed all of the steps set out by Scott and the time came to meet our trustee.
The meeting, ( even though nerve wracking for us ), went exceptionally well and we went home hopeful that our creditors would be satisfied with everything that was presented to them by 4 Pillars. Finally, the day came when we received the call that the proposal was accepted by all of the creditors.

My husband and I sat down and together we thanked god for letting us find that article and then meet Scott. We still have a lot to learn on budgeting and credit rebuilding but we are certain with 4 Pillars help we will meet all of our goals.

To anyone who like us is going through mental, physical anguish over debt overload we offer this: Review your situation, swallow your pride and get help. We fully recommend Scott at 4 Pillars. There is absolutely no one that we ever met before while dealing with our finances that made us feel respected and worthy of this blessed intervention. As someone who spent most of their adult life in credit card debt I can tell you wishing the problem away doesn’t help. As long as I was able to make my minimum payments I didn’t think there was a problem. As my debt grew my sense of personal freedom declined and the enormity of the situation began to weigh down on me. It has been an eventful couple of months with car repairs and lower than normal commission but NOT particularly stressful because we had the funds to cover everything. I still have $3500.00 in my emergency fund after all the unexpected expenses. We cannot believe how different we are living with a manageable monthly payment. We now look at our budget each month and it is so nice to have money left over.
